One of the things parents don’t want their kids to do is harm their bodies. Kids may have different ideas on what exactly “harming” could be. To a kid, harming their body would probably run along the lines of scraping their knee or breaking a bone. But to a parent, there are so many more definitions for the word “harm”. One of those would be a belly button piercing.

There are so many ways to hide a piercing now that more and more kids are getting it done. The best would obviously be to wear baggy clothes that don’t show the bump from the ring on your belly button. However, kids are creating ways to hide it as them and their friends get belly button rings.

If someone’s parent or guardian is completely against the idea of a body piercing yet the child still wants the piercing, the child turns who else but their friends. This is because they’re all the same age and can take about things that would be uncomfortable to discuss with guardians. When it comes to belly button piercings, peers have given suggestions like wearing baggy clothes and avoiding drawing attention in the area of the piercing. The suggestion that stood out the most was that if a shirt with a pouch will be worn, place some sort of object like a cell phone or Ipod in the spot where the ring is visible.

Another easy fix to this problem would be to either invest in a retainer for the belly button ring or to just take the piercing out. Of course, the best bet is to wait until the piercing is completely healed. The healing process could vary based on the situation but once it is healed, the ring could be taken out whenever the child is in a situation where the parent should not see the ring. A retainer is another good idea because they can be purchased in a clear color so the ring is much harder to detect than it would be if it were just the ring by itself.

Just because a teenager wants a piercing done but doesn’t have the approval of their parent doesn’t mean they are completely restricted. Belly button rings are perfect examples of items of jewelry that can be hidden. They are one of the easiest accessories to hide due to the fact that clothing can hide them. As more and more kids get a piercing in the navel, ways to hide the rings are becoming increasing.

For experts in several industries, like insurance coverage, banking and public education, ornamental jewelery like tongue rings or tattoos in obvious locations like a face or mouth could probably be a difficulty during the hiring process. An workplace may have legitimate issues about how an applicant may be perceived by possible clients, board associates or various stakeholders. It may sound foolish or old fashioned, but the actuality remains that non-traditional body adornment tends to make a certain impression, just as it’s meant to. Only sometimes, you don’t want that impression to be which individuals remember about you.

In various workplace environments, wearing tongue rings is more acceptable. I’ve noticed young adults put on tasteful, small rings in their nose and tongue occasionally while eating out and checking out at a register. Definitely, in some of nowadays’s newest roles, say in internet marketing fields, tongue rings and other body art is considerably more acceptable.

Depending upon the exposure in your job place, you may be allowed to wear tongue rings though working immediately with customers. Try to bear in mind that your speech may be altered so account for this and speak gradually and clearly, at least until your customer or group begins to understand your speech patterns. Save the wild tongue rings for the late-night party, leaving the calmer tongue rings for the office.

You just got home from a day with the girls and you decided to get your tongue pierced. Now it’s time to face the wrath of your parents. What will they think of your new addition to your body? Will you get in trouble? All logical questions that all come with answers through experience.

Teens and adults from age 15 to 25 are among the most common people who get their bodies’ pierced. One of the most popular kind is a tongue piercing. There are actually a variety of tongue rings to choose from if you decide to get this particular piercing.

The tongue ring was a way for you to express yourself and be unique, right? Some teens that get the piercing done live in strict homes where the parents would be furious if they found their child with a hole in their tongue. Luckily, the tongue ring is relatively easy to conceal from parents.

One of the most difficult things to get adjusted to after getting tongue rings is the way people talk. Usually, this is what parents pick up on. Some people develop temporary lisps after getting the piercing and some can’t say certain words; it’s a challenge.

Of course, parents are sometimes able to see the tongue ring or ball in your mouth. Wearing light or clear colors can help eliminate the possibility of this happening. Keep in mind the size of the ring as well. If it looks like it’s bigger than a pea, walk away. Don’t buy anything too large if you are trying to hide the fact that you have a piercing.

The most common side effect to getting a tongue ring is simple swelling, which is what causes the speech problems. A tip to reduce this is to soak a tea bag in hot water and then sit it on top of your tongue. The hot temperature will help the tissue absorb the heat particles and will later decrease the swelling. Tricks like this will return your speech to normal in no time.

Follow these tips, and they will help you- for a while, at least- in getting rid of swelling and avoiding consequences from your parents.

Like any trend in fashion or style, there will always be people who ask “why?” in regard to tongue rings, nose rings, and other body jewelry. From a non-pierced person’s point of view, the questions include, “Why would you want to stick a sharp needle through your face or mouth?” “What is the point?” and of course, “Do you really need another hole in your head?”

People who have decided to adorn themselves with body jewelry, however, respond with “Why not?” Tongue rings and nose rings are just two more ways for a person to express himself or herself. The idea of body jewelry is similar to the idea of tradition earlobe piercings: people want to be able to decorate themselves.

In addition, less traditional forms of body jewelry such as tongue rings, nose rings and eyebrow rings, are sometimes used as an outlet for rebellion against one’s parents or against a conformist society. The purpose is to essentially say, “Hey, it’s my body, I can poke holes wherever I want.”

The beauty of body jewelry is that most often, when a person decides that the body jewelry is no longer a desirable form of self-expression, he or she can simply remove the nose ring or tongue ring, and the tiny hole will eventually close up. Body jewelry is a semi-permanent way for people to show their style, rebel, or simply decorate the body.

Due to the popularity of belly button rings, some companies have develop a “fake” or “non-piercing” navel ring. These belly rings are supposed to look just like the real thing, be pain free, and stay on with ease.

To wear the fake belly button ring, a user need not have the actual piercing. This is ideal for people who do not want to go through the piercing process or who are not always allowed to have body jewelry (because of parents, dress codes, work, school, etc.).

Fake belly button rings typically have an arm that is attached to a spring and has a flat surface on the end that will press into the skin. Wearers will pull the movable arm back and hold the clip open. Then they will place the bottom or stationary arm inside the navel and press it to the back. Then they should gently close the clip by moving the movable arm back into position and the belly button ring will be attached.

There are some styles that require a person to glue a gem to the navel to create the look of a belly button ring. Others have a spring loaded system that attaches the non-piercing belly button ring. These are reportedly of lesser quality and suffer a lot of user complaints
