One of the most important times in a person’s life is their first job search. Not those first-time jobs of working for a grocery store as a sixteen-year-old, but an actual job where you get a salary with benefits as an adult. Sometimes this is also the hardest part of someone’s life, not just the most important, especially in the economy we’re living in now. In order to get a good job that you’ll actually want, you must present yourself in the best way possible. This includes your outfit, hair, makeup, attitude and body language.

You never want to look like you’re trying too hard when you go to an interview. It’s hard to know what to do with things like hair and makeup so you won’t look like you tried too hard. Wearing too much makeup is a definite shut-down at a job interview. It makes the interviewer think you’re not taking the job seriously and that you just want to dress to impress; you don’t look like you actually care about the job. When it comes to the makeup, you should try neutral colors like light and dark browns for eyeshadow and maybe a little bit of eyeliner but only on the top lid; bottom lid eyeliner rubs off easily and makes you look sleezy. To maintain a professional look, highlight the colors of your skin, hair, and eyes by using browns and tans. It keeps everything subtle yet brings out a few of your beauty features.

Hair runs along the same lines. When you wear your hair certain ways, you tend to look not-so-professional to sugar coat it. You don’t need to wear too big of curls or use too much hairspray. When you can see a gluey texture to your hair, you know you’ve used too much hairspray. It looks very sloppy and not professional so take caution in the amount of hold you apply to a hairstyle. If you want to avoid sloppy looks with your hair, try doing styles like straightening your hair or light waves, but not curls. They look fun and cute for events like a date night or girls night out but for an interview, you want to keep attention on the job, not on your hair. If your hair is too big and distracting, you could steer the point away from getting the job. By using your hair straightener for straight strands or soft waves, you are creating a professional and mature look for yourself. The interviewer will think you are ready to take this job seriously and in turn your chances of getting the job will increase.

These are just a few things to remember when looking for a new job. It’s hard to get noticed, especially with the economy we face today. There’s not much time to keep going through interviews over and over so take advantage of these style tips; in the long run, they help so much. Simply by using a hair straightener, you can get an incredible job that you’ve always dreamed of. Just remember to dress and do your makeup professionally to match that great hair.

When it comes to hair straighteners, it’s not so easy to protect hair from heat damage. 400 degrees coming in contact with your ends can be seriously damaging and can create dead hair. Eventually working with your hair will be easier because it will be extremely coarse and fried. This may sound like a good thing but just because it’s easier for you to style doesn’t mean it looks good. It also doesn’t mean your hair is healthy; it means it has no body and shine left to it. This is what you would call severe heat damage from your straightener. However, these results don’t only come from hair straighteners; you can also get permanent damage from a curling iron.

Repeatedly curling your hair day after day isn’t always the best choice. It is better than straightening your hair because of the temperature isn’t as high as a straightener. But the amount of time you hold the heat to your head is longer with a curling iron over a straightener. Going in depth about the amount of damage you can get, it is mainly caused by this amount of time that it is contact with the iron. The temperature of a curling iron doesn’t need to be as hot as a straightener because your hair is already forming by being wrapped around the barrel. With a straightener, on the other hand, the temperature is needed to be higher because it just runs through the hair and doesn’t spend as much time in contact with the hair.

To prevent all this damage from happening, you should obviously use some kind of a spray that protects against extreme heat damage. When you begin to curl your hair, you can also be sure to keep track of how long the barrel is in the hair. If you count it out, it would be smartest to count up to about fifteen. If you hold it in the hair for longer than ten to fifteen seconds, your hair will definitely become fried. No how matter how curly you want your hair and how long you want it to stay that way, it is not worth it to keep heat in contact with hair for too long. The damage ends up being awful and you will only regret it in the end. If you don’t want to count up to fifteen over and over, sing a verse of your favorite song. It makes your curling experience more safe and a little more fun too!

Keeping your hair healthy and still style it everyday isn’t always easy. Trying to get a great curly look turns out looking great but what if your hair doesn’t even last for more than an hour because of humidity? This is when you should think twice about the decision to curl your hair over and over each day. Keep your healthy locks safe from curling irons and straighteners by reducing the use of heat each day.

YouTube is filled with videos that teach how to, shop, and style makeup and hair. They fill the internet and are out there to help women and younger girls to look their best. The helpful tips about dressing right, curling hair, and performing a smoky eye are one of the main reasons girls visit the site. However, some women have tried to watch and learn from these videos and haven’t received great results. Although they are intended to work and make you look great, they don’t always complete their goal. So should you trust these kinds of videos or are they a scam just to get more and more views and gain fame?

Let’s start with hair tutorials; they are some of the most viewed. When I watch these kinds of video tutorials, I feel like they are very helpful. Usually when I begin watching them, I don’t just watch random videos. I search for a certain style like “curling hair with straightener” or something along those lines. When I make my search specific enough, it becomes easier to find videos that will work for sure and I know I can trust. Once I find some tutorials that I think will work, I make sure to watch them all the way through and then watch more by that same person before trying it out on my hair.

You can always tell how trustworthy someone on YouTube is by their body language in their video. You can also tell by the things they say. You can’t trust someone who says “then go ahead and like put some hairspray in your hair.” Make sure their directions are specific and make sense to you. If they hesitate a lot with their words and have to correct themselves, you definitely will know that they don’t know what they’re talking about. This is when you know to change it up and try someone else.

Makeup and shopping tutorials follow the exact same rules. If you feel like the person teaching you is stumbling on what they’re preaching, it’s time to move on. You will be also be able to tell by the way they give direction with their facial expressions. If they don’t look at the camera as they talk or if they look around a lot, they’re probably racking their brain for what to say next. You may finally be able to find that right video for your liking but don’t settle for the first thing you find; do some research and looking around on YouTube. If you do settle, you could seriously damage your hair or skin (makeup tutorial) just because you chose the wrong video.

The morning/day after prom is always a tiring and slow day. Everyone sleeps until the middle of the afternoon, most people take a break from chores, and everyone just all around doesn’t do anything. Most people will eventually decide to get up some point during that day and clean up. After all the sweating, hairspray, and make up that goes into that one night, it takes a little work to cleanse one self. One of the most important steps of this cleansing process is the way you take care of your hair. It can be severely damaged if you don’t wash/sanitize it right.

First off, you should begin early with the proper care before prom. The night before prom is the earliest you should shower. If you shower the same day that you get your hair done, the hair might be too clean and not as easy to work with. When the hair has a little time to gain a few of its natural oils, it’s not as easy to style. The natural oils in your hair are what make it stay in place, along with the tons of hairspray. As long as you cleanse it at the right time, you can have good hold and healthier hair in the long run.

Next comes the after math; the care following prom night. Whether you stay up extra late to shower or wake up and shower right away the next day, you need to properly take care of your hair. If you do decide to shower the night of prom right after the dance and after parties, you would be making the smartest decision. This is because you would be taking it out of its “mask” and freeing it from its hairspray and sweaty mess.

On the other hand you may decide to wait until the next day and sleep with your hair in its pins. This is bad for your hair, though. When you sleep with your hair in its updo and all of the product, you’re doing two things that are bad. First, you are hurting your head by letting pins press into your head. You’re also gaining a little too much oil in the hair other than the natural oils that it already has. It doesn’t seem so bad but when you don’t get rid of all the product, you can be hurting all of the health and body your hair already has.

Enjoy prom while you can. The night is filled with great events and great memories come out of it. But the aftermath is what can hurt. When you don’t take care of your hair the right way, you could be putting it in danger. It’s not as crucial as some damage like heat from a straightener but it is pretty important to keep your hair in its best shape. This includes the way you treat it after a long night of fun.

It only happens once a year. It’s the biggest night in some girls’ lives. Everyone prepares for months in advance for this one night; the tanning, the nails, the shopping, the hairstyle. Everything seems to come together magically for this special night of the year. Prom night is the one event where girls (and some guys) will go completely over the top to look like a million bucks. It’s not a very cheap preparation, either. All of the elements that go into prom are important of course but one of the most important parts of the night is the hair.

All girls want to have perfect hair so they do whatever they can to get a great look. When girls get their hair done on the morning of prom, it looks absolutely perfect and like it won’t move all day. However, as the day goes on, it may get windy and the girls will get busy. This may tend to mess up the girls’ hair after so much money is spent to make it look perfect. Some girls think they can just make a later appointment for the next time, but what if it’s too late and there aren’t enough appointments for you in the afternoon? You need tips to get your hair to stay looking great all day.

First, start with a little hairspray when you get it fixed by your stylist. Use a good amount but not too much because this could cause your hair too look wet or greasy all night- you’re going for smooth. Ask your hairdresser to apply enough to make all of your flyaways stay down but not too much. The amount of hairspray can either make or break your hairstyle for the evening so use it accordingly. If hairspray doesn’t work, you still have another choice to keep things tidy for your big night.

Sometimes after girls get their hair done, it can fall flat or break loose from its pins. This is one of the worst things that can happen when preparing for prom. If you own bobby pins, use a few to keep loose pieces into place along with some at-home hairspray. One of the best ways to touch up certain spots is by using a straightener. Lots of girls will go home and straighten their bangs or hanging pieces right after getting their hair done. Especially if they don’t like the way a certain area looks, they can go back and touch it up just the way they like it.

The biggest night of the year cannot be complete without the help of a few tools. When getting it styled for prom, be sure to be precise with your hairstylist so she can make it look exactly like you want. However, if you get home and it fails on you, take a straightener and some pins and customize that style!

“I am not having a good hair day; it won’t do anything I want it to.” This happens to every girl at least once a week or month. It may even happen to some guys, but mainly girls experience this in their daily routine. When a girl can’t get her hair to do what she wants it to, she usually ends up throwing it into a ponytail. This seems like the fast and easiest way to deal with stubborn hair, but there are actually better ways to take control. The next time you wake up with hair that stands straight up and won’t tame down the frizz, follow these few simple steps.

One of the first steps to cute hair when it’s not doing what you want is to try straightening it. Yes, you should be careful about the amount of heat you apply to it, but when these days unexpectedly happen, you need an emergency exit from bad hair day! Of course, spritz your ends with heat protection spray to begin. Let it dry and then use your hair straightener a few pieces here and there. Leaving it a little bit messy in some areas gives a unique look that will draw eyes to you throughout the day. Be sure to go through the hair with some type of straightening serum to give it a more polished look.

When straightening the hair fails, take charge of your hair by using only some gel and your fingertips. Begin creating tussles in the hair to give it a wavy and beachy look for your day. Do this by bending over so your hair is falling the the ground and your head is upside down. Typically, girls use some type of mousse on their hair when they scrunch it up. Make sure that it is slightly damp and begin at the tips of your hair, making a scrunching motion as you bring your hands to your head. This usually helps give a little bounce and messy look to your hair.

When this doesn’t work, go with a ponytail. However, do not go with any kind of boring, throw it up, kind of ponytail. Stick with cute and flirty and messy since you have already attempted it twice and are on the right track. This time, pull at the crown of your hair with a brush or comb to tease at the roots of the hair. Next, run your fingers through the hair to mess it up a bit and prep it for a flirty pony. Next bring the hair back either into a low or high ponytail and secure it with a thin elastic band. You don’t need too much security because you want it to look sloppy and loose.

A ponytail can always come to the rescue on your bad hair days. Make sure to start with the other two choices first; if one of them work you will look a little bit more tied together. It’s fun to mix and match though so even on days where you’re not having a bad hair day, try out one of these styles! They’re fun, fast, and can easily get you through a rough morning to have an amazing day.

It has been said that scissors originated in Ancient Egypt in the year 1500 B.C. The technical definition of this word is “a hand-operating instrument that consists of two blades. This pair of blades have sharpened edges that slide against one another the handles open and close.” The first known pair of scissors was noted to be found in Mesopotamia over 3,000 years ago. Of course the look of these handy tools have changed since then but they still have the same function. Not only has the look changed, but there have also been new uses that have developed for these tools. Now certain types of scissors have been invented to be able to be used on paper, cardboard, wire, and hair.

Hair scissors are some of the most important items in the beauty industry today. There are many different types of them available to do many different types of functions for clients all around the world. Back in B.C. times, no one would have thought that scissors could be used to cut hair. They probably thought that hair could only be cut by knives or other similar sharp objects.

There haven’t been any recorded first uses of hair scissors. You can bet that the first person to use hair scissors was extremely nervous, though. Think about the very first time you had used something that no one else had ever had experience with. This is a difficult task to perform unless you have the proper training. Since they were probably hard to learn about at first, people probably had a difficult time training themselves and others how to use these tools. Once they became more popular and approved for good use, it became easier to get your hands on a pair of them.

Although there are a few challenges of these new tools, stylists must be extremely thankful for them. Without any kind of sharp shears, haircuts would be nearly impossible. There is no other kind of tool that can perform the same job as a pair of hair scissors. It has two blades that pivot to come together and then separate when the handles are worked correctly. Some might say that hairdressers can use a simple pair of office or kitchen scissors. This is where they’re wrong, however. Office scissors are manufactured specifically for paper. When these kinds of scissors are used on anything other than paper, they can become out of line and may never work the same again.

The history of scissors go way back to B.C. times and have been known to cut many kinds of things. The functions of these tools are incredible but must be treated with care. As long as users are careful with their scissors, they can successfully perform greatly.

In order to have healthy hair, you have to learn how to take care of it from the beginning. Babies obviously have some of the most healthy hair in the world because they are brand new to the world and have not exposed their hair to heat yet. Heat is the number one damage causer in the world. Women across the country use straighteners and curling irons and other sources of heat each day, only to find that their hair dwindles down to nothing after so many uses of heat. Mothers across the world need to know what is actually good and bad for hair so they can take care of their babies’ hair the right way from the beginning.

Some mothers mistakenly do the wrong things with their babies’ hair and that’s where all the damage begins. Newborns are so tiny and don’t know enough human traits so they can’t do much besides eat, sleep, and dirty their diapers. Therefore, you know they can’t go out and play in the mud when they’re so small. Babies don’t do much to get dirty unless they have an extremely messy diaper. As far as their hair goes, they don’t get sweaty or dirty like most people so they don’t need to bathe everyday at all.

This is the number one mistake in mothers and their babies’ hair. These tiny infants haven’t quite developed strong follicles in their hair yet so there’s not much that can get clogged to make their greasy. They also don’t have long enough hair to get tangles like older toddlers do. Over washing of a baby’s hair is very typical because lots of mothers think their baby needs to have consistently clean hair. What they don’t realize, however, is that their baby already does have clean hair and they don’t need a wash everyday. Newborns don’t necessarily need baths as often as six-month-olds. The amount of showers needed will vary as they get older. A newborn baby can get a bath every two to three days just to clear off germs that have accumulated over time. You don’t want to bathe them everyday because it can also dry their skin out.

Healthy hair also doesn’t also just occur with baths for babies, haircuts also need to come in tact. A child’s first haircut depends on the length and grow rate of their hair. For example, some children turn one with hair that is longer than chin length but very thin. They may be ready for a haircut but be sure to go to a stylist that you really trust; going to a stylist that hasn’t had much experience with infants is a bad idea. This is because small children have extremely thin hair and it must be cut with precautions.

Also, wait as long as you can to begin applying heat to their hair. Some moms will begin straightening their daughters’ hair when they are as young as four years old. A child’s hair still isn’t developed enough to apply heat to it yet. Kids’ hair won’t be ready to be straightened or curled until the hair has enough body to it and isn’t as thick anymore. Usually the hair is fully developed after age six or seven.

These few tips will help you mothers out there treat your baby’s hair with proper care each day. Until they are old enough for hair straighteners and hair scissors, be careful with styling his/her hair. Using the right kinds of techniques on your child’s hair will keep it healthy at an early stage. It will also teach them from the get go how to properly treat their hair.

Did you know that your hair grows approximately one inch every month? This is true for the average American, no matter the gender or age. This may seem cool and exciting if you’ve been trying to grow your hair out forever, but it doesn’t mean that if you go six months without getting a haircut then your hair will grow six inches. It may be true if you keep up to date with the style but if you don’t get it at least trimmed every six weeks, your hair will only create split ends which serve almost as clogs that prevent the hair from growing. If you don’t want to spend the extra cash to go out and get your hair “sheared” every six weeks, there are a few tricks you can perform in the comfort of your own home to maintain that great hair.

One of the best ways to keep your hair in good shape between haircuts is to wash it regularly. Notice, I didn’t say daily- I said regularly. Your hair doesn’t need to be cleansed every single day because it already carries natural oils that keep your hair moisturized. If you wash it daily, it becomes more dry than before and makes the ends of your hair feel crispy, making you believe you have split ends. This is only going to make you want a haircut since you think the ends are split and that just contradicts your point of saving money from haircuts.

Another tip is to be sure and brush your hair-this one you can do daily! Make sure you really do it daily because as the day goes on and as you get more busy, your hair gets caught up in the mess of the day too. Factors like the wind, hairspray, and your own fingers make such a mess out of your hair. The oils in your fingers create greasy looks, the wind creates snarly textures and hairspray makes hair so stiff that it can’t even be run through. That’s why you should always use a hairbrush at the beginning and end of everyday to help maintain a soft texture for you to handle your hair between haircuts.

One of the reasons I have to get my haircut is because of the fast rate that it “bulks up”. It begins to get thicker the longer I wait between cuts and eventually I can’t stand it anymore. To help lengthen the time between my haircuts, I like to change up my styles. Try to wear your hair in a ponytail or even just tie the parts back that feel bulky. Getting the bulk out of my way makes me feel like it’s not even there so I really like to play with my styles; plus it keeps variety in each day of my week!

These are a few of my favorite ways to keep my hair pretty for longer. It saves me so much money to do these few tricks because I don’t have to cut my hair as often. Do make sure to keep an eye on the amount of time you wait between each cut. Don’t go six months without a trim because your hair will really become damaged in that time period. I typically don’t go any longer than two months. Bust out the shears only when you need to but don’t forget about them!

In my previous blogs, I have been famous for mentioning the importance of using some kind of heat protection. After repeating myself so many times, blog after blog, I have realized that I haven’t ever mentioned any consequences. What kind of motivation can readers have from me if they have no proof of what the result will be from the use of heat protectant. After reading this blog, you will be sure to have a good idea of what your hair will look like in sixty years unless you start protecting it as soon as possible!

The look of your hair when you get older all depends on how you treat it when you’re younger. You know all those girls that straighten their hair every single day and make sure that each strand is straight as a pin? They’re the ones that should be worried for their hair’s health. The only reason girls like to straighten their hair is to impress others with their looks. Most of them have no concern for the future of their looks; they live in the moment. Now, no one ever said it was a bad thing to live in the moment but when so many girls are obsessed with their current looks and don’t think about the next 50 years, it’s a bad sign.

Here’s what happens after fifty years of improper hair care. These three words will describe your hair: stringy, straw-like, and dry. The ends become very stiff and don’t want to do much for you. This is bad because as an older woman, you have more fancy events to attend than you think. There are a lot of weddings, church events, concerts for grandkids, etc. that require a grandparent’s attendance. Today, older women style their hair short and fancy like. When you get to be that age, though, your hair will not be the same as today’s elder generation. Since we take so much time teasing and using hair straighteners, we don’t know what our hair will be like. I can almost guarantee that lots of women in our generation will have hair that can no longer even be styled because it’d be so broken and damaged.

From now on, girls should probably pay more attention to their hair and they styling they perform on it. Maybe every once in a while it’s okay to put a little bump in the crown of the hair but every single day repeatedly is the worst thing on hair. You can even tell by looking at your hair today that some of the ends are damaged and need a little TLC. Who knows, maybe we’ll all be bald because of the use of straighteners! Start paying attention to the future of your hair and care a little less about today.
